Patent for the invention entitled "Ethylene absorber sachet with torrefied biomass bed and application of the ethylene absorber sachet"

We are pleased to inform you that on January 17th, the Polish Patent Office published the granted patent for the invention entitled "Ethylene absorber sachet with torrefied biomass bed and application of the ethylene absorber sachet."

This invention was developed as a result of a project under the third call of the PCI grant program, led by Dr Marcin Bajcar, MS, an employee of the Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences at the University of Rzeszów. The inventors are Dr Marcin Bajcar, MS, Associate Professor Bogdan Saletnik, Associate Professor Grzegorz Zaguła, MS and Professor Andrzej Marczuk. The patent was created in collaboration between employees of the Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences at the University of Rzeszów and the University of Life Sciences in Lublin.

The invention involves the development of an innovative method for processing plant biomass into biochar, used for absorbing ethylene. The resulting invention is the outcome of implementing innovations in the optimal selection of the torrefaction process for processing lignocellulosic biomass to produce a biochar bed, placed in a cellulose sachet. The developed invention, the "Ethylene Absorber Sachet," aligns with sustainable development policies and the zero waste trend. It is based on environmentally friendly and user-safe elements, supporting an economy that efficiently utilizes renewable natural resources.
