Patent for the Invention titled "Fertilizer sachet made of cellulose with biochar, method of producing this fertilizer sachet, and application of the fertilizer sachet"

We are pleased to announce that on Jan 24th, the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland published the granted patent for the invention titled "Fertilizer sachet made of cellulose with biochar, method of producing this fertilizer sachet, and application of the fertilizer sachet." This invention resulted from the implementation of a project in the third call of the PCI grant program, led by Associate Professor Bogdan Saletnik, from the Faculty of Technology and Life Sciences at the University of Rzeszów. The inventors of the patent are Associate Professor Bogdan Saletnik, Associate Professor Grzegorz Zaguła, MSc, Dr. Marcin Bajcar, MSc, Dr. Edyta Pyrek-Bajcar, MSc, Dr. Barbara Drygaś, and Professor Andrzej Marczuk.

The method developed within the framework of the invention represents an innovative solution for utilizing plant-based waste products and their processing technologies for fertilizing potted plants. The invention was created through the appropriate selection of plant waste products and the application of suitable processing methods to obtain biochar compositions with specific properties, applied in a biodegradable cellulose sachet. The developed invention responds to the growing societal awareness and consumer interest in sustainable, environmentally friendly products. The patented solution is fully ecological and promotes the principles of sustainable development and the zero-waste movement.
