The ceremony of doctoral and habilitation promotions at the University of Rzeszów!

On February 16th, at the University of Rzeszów, we had the opportunity to celebrate together with the distinguished individuals one of the most important events in the academic community's life. During the ceremony, Rector's awards, distinctions, and the University of Rzeszów Medal were presented.

University of Rzeszów Medal

The Ceremony began with the presentation of the University of Rzeszów Medal to Prof. Anna Wilmowska-Pietruszyńska. Prof. Dr Hab. MD Artur Mazur, Vice-Rector for the College of Medical Sciences, introduced the profile of the Honoree. Prof. Dr Hab. Sylwester Czopek, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, awarded the Medal to Prof. Anna Wilmowska-Pietruszyńska, and flowers were presented by a student representing "Resovia Saltans."

Rector's Awards UR

During the ceremony, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów Awards were also presented, and this part of the ceremony was led by the Vice-Rector for the College of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr Hab. Elżbieta Feret.

The individual award for obtaining the title of professor was received by Prof. Dr Hab. Sabina Grabowska.

The individual award for obtaining the degree of habilitated doctor was received by Dr Hab. Marta Kopańska.

Doctoral and habilitation promotions

Since the last Promotion Ceremony at the University of Rzeszów, six months have passed. During this time, 52 candidates in the fields of humanities, social sciences, biology, agriculture, and health sciences, according to the resolutions of the respective councils of our University's colleges, obtained the degree of doctor, while 5 individuals obtained the degree of habilitated doctor.

"The doctoral promotion ceremony has a special significance. It is the final, pleasant accent of the many years of effort by the doctoral candidates, the immeasurable scientific care of their supervisors, and the kind concern of many institutional elements of our University," said Prof. Dr Hab. Sylwester Czopek, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów.
