Project description
The main objective of the project is to organise the Central European Congress of Economic History dedicated to the modernisation processes that took place throughout the history of the so-called Younger Europe (the part of the continent that entered the Western civilisation circle at the end of the first millennium). The project involves the publication of the results on a dedicated online platform as well as in the form of printed peer-reviewed monographs in Polish and English. The hope is that the project will help integrate scientific communities researching the economic and social history of Central and Eastern Europe, including countries such as Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, and Balkan countries. Among many related subjects, studies concerning the ongoing processes of economic and social modernisation and paths of development in Central and Eastern Europe are of particular interest to the Congress organisers. An additional goal of the event is to establish formal relationships and develop common areas of interest and cooperation during project workshops. The project involves the organisation of a two-day scientific conference in a hybrid format and the publication of two scientific monographs.
