SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

Research in the Department of Biochemistry and General Chemistry focuses on the organic synthesis of pharmacologically active substances, the design of drug delivery systems, the study of natural compounds, the search for oxidative stress biomarkers, cancer biomarkers, the steroid profile of body fluids, and the search for the yield of new substances that exhibit pharmacological activity using kinetic and thermodynamic methods.

Among the goals of our research is to develop preclinical models of drug delivery systems using modified monoclonal antibodies for treatment and visualization at the cellular level.

Another goal is to study markers of oxidative stress in the serum of patients to determine the imbalance between the generation of reactive species and the mechanisms that are responsible for their elimination.

We are developing assays for markers of inflammation and mediators of inflammatory processes in body fluids. We are conducting research on compounds of natural origin and the synthesis of their derivatives.

We have developed a 3D cell culture method in a flow-through bioreactor. Our work includes standard and innovative applications of MRI nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, MRS magnetic resonance spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis, NMR liquid nuclear magnetic resonance, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography with mass detection LC-MS/MS.
