The research performed by employees of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Preclinical and Clinical Reesearch published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences

We are pleased to announce the results of research by employees of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Preclinical and Clinical Research at the University of Rzeszow, consisting of Dr. Gabriela Betlej, Dr. Ewelina Bator, Prof. Dr. hab. Anna Koziorowska, Prof. Dr. hab. Marek Koziorowski and Dr. Iwona Rzeszutek, have been published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IF 4.9 and 140 points according to the ministerial list of scored journals). The work aimed at the determination of the effect of a sinusoidal electromagnetic field (50 Hz, 1.3 mT) on retinal cells. The studies have shown that the use of an electromagnetic field (50 Hz, 1.3 mT) is associated with an increase in RNA methylation (m6A and m5C), which affects the level of heme oxygenase 1 and proteins involved in repairing DNA damage. It has also been proven that the use of a sinusoidal electromagnetic field promotes the migration and proliferation of retinal cells. In summary, these results indicate that a sinusoidal electromagnetic field (50 Hz, 1.3 mT) can serve as a potential tool for developing therapeutic strategies for retinal diseases.
