The Faculty Board has been vested with the right to award a Doctoral Degree in History (since 1995), Sociology (since 1997), Archaeology (since 2006) and Post-Doctoral Degree (dr hab.) in history since 1999.
The Faculty incorporates the following Institutes:
- Institute of Archaeology
- Institute of History
- Institute of Philosophy
- Institute of Sociology
- Institute of Political Science
Since the academic year 2006/2007, the Institute has offered PhD programmes in archaeology and history.
Faculty of Sociology and History
The Faculty of Sociology and History was created following the Senate resolution of the Rzeszów University of Pedagogy in 1994, as an outcome of the splitting of the former Faculty of Social and Pedagogical Sciences into the Faculties of Sociology and History as well as Pedagogy.
Over 1200 students are enrolled at the Faculty during the 2016/2017 academic year.
There were 114 academic and teaching staff, including 58 professors were in the Faculty’s employment as at the end of 2016.
Education at the Faculty covers the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.
