Professor Tadeusz Boruta from the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Rzeszów has been named a finalist in the International Competition to create the Stations of the Cross for St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

The competition saw participation from over a thousand artists from 80 countries. From this pool, an international jury selected 13 finalists. Each finalist created a painted bozzetto of the XII station and a drawing of another station of the Via Crucis. The works of the finalists have been acquired by the organizers for their collection and will be showcased in a special exhibition at the Sala di Rappresentanza della Presidenza, nel Palazzo della Sagrestia di San Pietro in Vatican City.
