The opening of the modernized X-ray laboratory at the University of Rzeszów!
On January 22nd, in the College of Medical Sciences at the University of Rzeszów, the officially opened modernized X-ray laboratory. The laboratory is equipped for educational purposes with a state-of-the-art X-ray machine operating in the system of so-called direct digital radiography.
The gathered guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr Hab. Andrzej Urbanik, the founder of the electroradiologyprogramme at the University of Rzeszów; Prof. Doctor of Medical Sciences Adam Reich, the Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences; Doctor of Health Sciences Aleksandra Pusz-Sapa, the head of the electroradiology programme; and Doctor of Medical Sciences Wiesław Guz, the head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine.
In the year 2023, the 10th anniversary of the electroradiology programme at the University of Rzeszów was celebrated. At that time, the modernization of the teaching facilities was initiated. This allowed students, in two laboratories, to conduct examinations using digital X-ray machines operating in both indirect and direct systems. Students of the electroradiology programme at the University of Rzeszów have the opportunity to train in all techniques currently applied in radiography.
The purchased digital, portable X-ray machine enables the performance of X-ray examinations in various conditions, for example, outside the X-ray laboratory, during simulations of traffic accidents. A valuable addition is also a special phantom that allows visualization of internal images, as in the case of a real patient, in X-ray and CT examinations. The modernization of the laboratories will help maintain the position of Rzeszów's Electroradiology as a leader in Poland.
