The regional government awarded grants to universities in the Podkarpackie region. The University of Rzeszów received 340,000 PLN

Once again, the regional government has awarded grants to universities in the Podkarpackie region. This year, higher education institutions received a total of 1.7 million PLN from the regional budget to support investment purchases. The grant was distributed to ten universities in the Podkarpackie region. This form of assistance has been provided by the regional government since 2004, and since the inception of this support, 29.2 million PLN has been allocated from the regional budget.

The University of Rzeszów received funding in the amount of 340,000.00 PLN for the project titled "Purchase of Equipment and Software for Control and Data Analysis for the MBE Technology Laboratory in the Microelectronics and Nanotechnology Teaching and Research Centre of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Rzeszów."

The allocated funds will be used to expand and modernize the measurement station, which consists of an X-ray diffractometer (a measurement device used to analyse the structure of crystalline substances based on their diffraction patterns) and a data analysis module.

The purchased research equipment will be used to work with materials produced using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) technology, which is being developed at the Microelectronics and Nanotechnology Teaching and Research Centre of the Institute of Materials Engineering at the University of Rzeszów. The materials produced in this centre using MBE technology are used in optoelectronics as detectors and sources of infrared radiation. The expansion of the measurement station and the acquisition of data analysis software will improve the quality of the produced materials, thereby enhancing their properties, which are crucial for their applications.
