Research

Scholars in the Institute of Modern Languages conduct research in general, comparative, contrastive as well as cognitive and applied linguistics with focus placed on different languages. Diverse analyses are conducted to search for similarities and differences between language systems, to outline processes behind language rules and methods of teaching foreign languages. Research is also conducted in the theory and practice of translation between languages also in its communicative and intercultural perspective. Literatures and cultures of given language speaking communities are the focal point of analysis by literary and culture studies specialists.
