On Monday, March 24, 2025, an online meeting took place between Professor Jolanta Szempruch, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at the University of Rzeszów, Professor Mariana Sokol, and Tomislav Pušić, a researcher from the Department of Culture and Learning, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Aalborg University, located in Aalborg, Denmark.

The meeting was initiated following Tomislav's strong interest in the Days of Solidarity with Ukraine event, held at the University of Rzeszów on February 22-23, 2025. After learning about the event, Tomislav expressed a desire to meet and discuss the significant actions of solidarity that were showcased. His research is part of the Corridors of Migration project, which focuses on the infrastructures of hospitality and sanctuary along key migration routes, particularly the Ukrainian-Polish and Balkan corridors.

During the meeting, Professor Szempruch shared insights on the Days of Solidarity with Ukraine, an event designed to express support for Ukraine amidst its ongoing conflict with Russia. Professor Szempruch also highlighted the crucial role of Rzeszów since the beginning of the conflict, as it became a key city for humanitarian aid and logistical support. Professor Sokol, who was identified as a key contact for Tomislav's research, proposed valuable insights and discussed potential areas for future academic and international cooperation between the two universities.

The further discussion between Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at the University of Rzeszów Jolanta Szempruch and Tomislav Pušić, also set the foundation for further international cooperation between the University of Rzeszów and Aalborg University by signing in future interuniversity agreements. Both institutions expressed a strong desire to deepen their collaboration in areas of research and academic exchange, particularly in the fields of international relations, humanitarian studies, solidarity actions to fostering stronger ties and contributing to global peace and stability.

This productive online meeting exemplified the importance of international dialogue and collaboration, reinforcing the significance of solidarity actions such as the Days of Solidarity with Ukraine, while also paving the way for future cooperation between the University of Rzeszów and Aalborg University in Aalborg, Denmark.
