General interest:

The influence of intracellular and extracellular factors on the physiological state and size of the cells and their proliferative capacity. The influence of different availability of carbohydrates on the physiological state, energy metabolism, biosynthetic and degradation processes of the cell, and what impact this has on cell proliferative capacity.

Research interests: cellular biochemistry, central carbon metabolism, glucose metabolism, calorie restriction, calorie excess, periodic starvation, non-mitochondrial ROS, cell size and reproductive potential, cellular biosynthetic and degradation processes, yeast, autofluorescence.

My achievements also include scientific papers related to the issue of oxidative stress and redox homeostasis.

Winner of the Witold Drabikowski Award of the Polish Biochemical Society for the best Ph.D. thesis in biochemistry defended in 2019.

Research project:

  • Head of the research project NCN MINIATURA 5  "Extramitochondrial generation of reactive oxygen species and energy metabolism of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells"
  • Participant in NCN research grant "Replicative versus chronological aging of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae"
