Mikroskopia sił atomowych pozwala scharakteryzować komórki i tkanki w ich fizjologicznym, wodnym środowisku z rozdzielczością nanoskali. Jednocześnie pozwala na badanie właściwości mechanicznych różnych struktur, w tym struktur biologicznych. Celem projektu będzie ocena morfologii nanostruktur skóry człowieka, a także próba zastosowania mikroskopii sił atomowych w obrazu stanów chorobowych skóry i badania właściwości skóry i połączeń międzykomórkowych, m.in. w autoimmunologicznych chorobach pęcherzowych skóry czy w chorobach przebiegających z zaburzeniem rogowacenia.

Atomic force microscopy allows characterizing cells and tissues in their physiological, aqueous environment with nanoscale resolution. At the same time, it allows studying the mechanical properties of various structures, including biological structures. The aim of the project will be to evaluate the morphology of human skin nanostructures, as well as to try to apply atomic force microscopy in the imaging of skin diseases and the study of the properties of skin and intercellular connections in several pathological confditions, such as in autoimmune blistering diseases of the skin or in diseases involving disorders of keratinization.
