W dniach 17-20 czerwca 2024 r. delegacja Szkoły Doktorskiej Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego przebywała na zaproszenie Prof. Aida Vallejo z wizytą studyjną na Uniwersytecie Kraju Basków (UPV/EHU), w Hiszpanii. W delegacji uczestniczyli dr hab. Maciej Wnuk, prof. UR (Dyrektor Szkoły Doktorskiej UR), dr hab. Robert Pązik, prof. UR (przedstawiciel Rady Szkoły Doktorskiej UR, Dyrektor Instytutu Biotechnologii UR), mgr inż. Iwona Wania, mgr Joanna Berdowska (przedstawicielki administracji Szkoły Doktorskiej UR) oraz mgr inż. Tomasz Lachowski (doktorant Szkoły Doktorskiej UR, przedstawiciel Samorządu Doktorantów UR ds. współpracy międzynarodowej).
Celem wizyty była wymiana doświadczeń z zakresu kształcenia doktorantów oraz dyskusja o przyszłej współpracy między naszymi szkołami doktorskimi. Podczas czterodniowej wizyty delegaci UR odbyli szereg spotkań z przedstawicielami Szkoły Doktorskiej UPV/EHU oraz zapoznali się z naukowcami i infrastrukturą w trzech kampusach UPV/EHU mających swoją siedzibę w Bilbao, Vitorii-Gasteiz oraz w San Sebastián.
Z ramienia Szkoły Doktorskiej UPV/EHU w Bilbao w spotkaniu uczestniczyła Prof. Aida Vallejo, która jest Zastępcą Kierownika ds. Stosunków Międzynarodowych i Komunikacji Szkoły Doktorskiej (DOKe).
W San Sebastián delegacja miała okazję wizytować dwa centra naukowe prowadzące badania z zakresu inżynierii materiałowej: Material Physics Center (https://cfm.ehu.es/) oraz The Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering (https://www.polymat.eu/en/home). Delegacja spotkała się również z przedstawicielami grup badawczych funkcjonujących w ramach w/w centrów: Prof. Angel Alegria i Prof. Ion Errea z Material Physics Center (CSIC-UPV/EHU) oraz Prof. José M. Asua, dyrektorem POLYMAT (http://www.polymat.eu/) J.M. Korta Center University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.
W Vitoria delegacja wizytowała Wydział Sztuki (https://www.ehu.eus/es/web/letren-fakultatea), gdzie odbyła spotkanie z Dziekan Prof. Belén Bengoetxea Rementeria, Prof. Alvaro Arrizabalaga (Prodziekan ds. Programów Mobilności i Stosunków Międzynarodowych) oraz Virginia López de Maturana (Prodziekan ds. Wymiany Międzynarodowej, Wielojęzyczności i Asystentury). W trakcie wizyty zapoznano się z zapleczem dydaktycznym, laboratoriami filologicznymi oraz pracowniami archeologicznymi.
Na kampusie uniwersyteckim w Bilbao María Goyri Biotechnology Center przedstawiciele Szkoły Doktorskiej UR spotkali się z Prof. Ana Zubiaga, PhD (Professor of Genetics) z Department of Genetics, Physical Anthropology & Animal Physiology, z którą rozmawiali o kształceniu doktorantów w ramach biologii oraz biotechnologii.

Wizyta odbyła się w ramach programu STER NAWA – umiędzynarodowienie szkół doktorskich, Projekt: UR an international PhD student.


On the days of June 17-20, 2024, a delegation from the Doctoral School at the University of Rzeszów, at the invitation of Prof. Aida Vallejo, visited the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The delegation included Maciej Wnuk, PhD, Prof. UR (Director of the UR Doctoral School), Robert Pązik, PhD, Prof. UR (Representative of the UR Doctoral School Council, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology), Iwona Wania, MSc, Joanna Berdowska, MA (Representatives of the UR Doctoral School Administration), and Tomasz Lachowski, MSc (PhD student at the UR Doctoral School, Representative of the Doctoral Student Council for International Cooperation).
The purpose of the visit was to discuss and exchange experiences in doctoral education and discuss future cooperation between our doctoral schools. During the 4 days, UR delegates held a series of meetings with representatives of the UPV/EHU Doctoral School and got to know the researchers and the infrastructure at the three UPV/EHU campuses based in Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz and San Sebastián.
On behalf of the UPV/EHU Doctoral School, Prof. Aida Vallejo, who is Deputy Head of International Relations and Communications of the Doctoral School (DOKe), participated in the meetings.
In San Sebastian, the UR Doctoral School delegation had the opportunity to visit two scientific centers conducting research in the area of materials engineering Material Physics Center (https://cfm.ehu.es/) and The Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering (https://www.polymat.eu/en/home). During the visit, the delegation met with representatives of the research groups operating within the aforementioned centers: Prof. Angel Alegria and Prof. Ion Errea from Material Physics Center (CSIC-UPV/EHU) and Professor José M. Asua director of POLYMAT (http://www.polymat.eu/) J.M. Korta Center University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU
In Vitoria, a delegation from the UR Doctoral School visited the Faculty of Arts (https://www.ehu.eus/es/web/letren-fakultatea) during which they had a meeting with Dean Prof. Belén Bengoetxea Rementeria, Prof. Alvaro Arrizabalaga (Associate Dean for Mobility Programs and International Relations ) and Virginia López de Maturana (Associate Dean for International Exchange, Multilingualism and Assistantships). During the visit, the halls and laboratories of philology as well as archaeology were visited.
On the Bilbao campus, a visit was made to the María Goyri Biotechnology Center, during which representatives of the UR Doctoral School met with Prof. Ana Zubiaga, PhD (Professor of Genetics) from Dept. Genetics, Physical Anthropology & Animal Physiology, with whom they discussed doctoral education in biology and biotechnology.
