INFORMATOR O SZKOLE DOKTORSKIEJ / A GUIDEBOOK ABOUT DOCTORAL SCHOOL
Szkoła Doktorska w Uniwersytecie Rzeszowskim powstała w 2019 roku i czerpie z doświadczeń zdobytych podczas lat prowadzenia studiów doktoranckich. Międzyobszarowy i interdyscyplinarny charakter Szkoły Doktorskiej UR zapewnia kreatywne podejście do badań naukowych oraz elastyczny program, pozwalający każdemu kandydatowi na dobór kierunków zgodnie z jego zainteresowaniami badawczymi.
Kształcenie w Szkole Doktorskiej trwa od 6 do 8 semestrów i przygotowuje do uzyskania stopnia doktora w dyscyplinach naukowych i artystycznych, w których UR posiada uprawnienia do nadawania stopnia doktora. Kształcenie prowadzone jest na podstawie programu kształcenia oraz Indywidualnego Planu Badawczego. Realizacja kształcenia umożliwia osiągnięcie efektów uczenia się dla klasyfikacji na poziomie 8 PRK oraz jest prowadzona zgodnie z zasadami Europejskiej Karty Naukowca.
W trakcie kształcenia doktoranci uczestniczą w kursach specjalistycznych (wykłady, seminaria, laboratoria) oraz kursach rozwijających ich umiejętności naukowe i kompetencje metodyczne. Doktoranci zdobywają wiedzę, umiejętności i kompetencje, które będą stanowić podstawę ich obecnej i przyszłej pracy badawczej. Szkoła Doktorska oferuje również interdyscyplinarną sieć współpracy, stwarzającą warunki do wszechstronnego rozwoju naukowego. Głównym celem Szkoły Doktorskiej UR jest przygotowanie doktorantów do samodzielnych badań najwyższej jakości oraz do nauczania w instytucji akademickiej.
Szkoła Doktorska w Uniwersytecie Rzeszowskim kształci doktorantów w następujących dyscyplinach naukowych:

Rekrutacja ma charakter otwartego konkursu, a do Szkoły Doktorskiej przyjmowani są kandydaci posiadający tytuł zawodowy magistra, magistra inżyniera albo równorzędny lub absolwenci studiów pierwszego stopnia lub studenci, którzy ukończyli trzeci rok jednolitych studiów magisterskich, jeżeli jest to uzasadnione najwyższą jakością ich dorobku naukowego.
Kształcenie w Szkole Doktorskiej UR jest bezpłatne dla wszystkich, w tym dla doktorantów zagranicznych. Zajęcia przewidziane programem kształcenia prowadzone są od poniedziałku do piątku, natomiast w uzasadnionych przypadkach wynikających ze specyfiki przedmiotu zajęcia mogą być realizowane w inne dni tygodnia. Podstawowym językiem, w którym prowadzony jest program kształcenia jest język polski. Dla doktorantów zagranicznych istnieje możliwość realizacji całego cyklu kształcenia w języku angielskim.
Doktorant nieposiadający stopnia doktora otrzymuje stypendium doktoranckie. Jednocześnie można być doktorantem tylko w jednej szkole doktorskiej.
Doktoranci mają zapewnioną opiekę naukową, mają dostęp do nowoczesnej infrastruktury i zasobów Uczelni. Doktorant, w porozumieniu z promotorem, opracowuje indywidualny plan badawczy w ciągu 12 miesięcy od rozpoczęcia kształcenia w szkole doktorskiej, a jego realizacja podlega ocenie śródokresowej. W indywidualnym planie badawczym wyznaczony jest termin złożenia rozprawy doktorskiej, co jest równoznaczne z ukończeniem kształcenia. Okres ten może zostać przedłużony maksymalnie o 2 lata lub zawieszony na okres korzystania z urlopów związanych z obowiązkami rodzicielskimi.
Kształcenie w szkole doktorskiej kończy się złożeniem rozprawy doktorskiej wraz z pozytywną opinią promotora lub promotorów.
Stopień doktora nadawany jest w odrębnym trybie w wybranej przez doktoranta dziedzinie i dyscyplinie naukowej lub artystycznej. W Polsce Ustawa 2.0 wprowadziła również możliwość nadawania stopnia doktora wyłącznie w dziedzinie, bez określenia dyscypliny, gdy rozprawa doktorska jest interdyscyplinarna i nie ma dyscypliny wiodącej.

The cross-field and interdisciplinary nature of Rzeszów University Doctoral School ensures a creative approach to scientific research and a flexible programme, allowing every candidate to select courses according to their research interests.
Education at Rzeszów University Doctoral School lasts from 6 to 8 semesters and prepares doctoral students to obtain a doctoral degree in scientific and artistic disciplines in which UR is entitled to award the doctoral degree. Education at Rzeszów University Doctoral School is based on the curriculum and the Individual Research Plan. Education at Rzeszów University Doctoral School enables doctoral students to achieve learning outcomes for the classification at the PQF 8 level. Education at Rzeszów University Doctoral School is in accordance with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers.
During their studies, doctoral students participate in specialist courses (lectures, seminars, laboratories) and courses developing their scientific skills and methodological competences. Doctoral sudents gain knowledge, skills and competences that will constitute the basis for their present and future research work. Rzeszów University Doctoral School also offers an interdisciplinary network of cooperation, creating conditions for comprehensive scientific development. The main goal of Rzeszów University Doctoral School is to prepare its doctoral students for independent research of the highest quality and for teaching at an academic institution.

Recruitment is an open competition. Rzeszów University Doctoral School admits candidates with the professional title of Master, Master of Science or equivalent, or graduates of first-cycle studies or students who have completed the third year of uniform Master's studies, if this is justified by the highest quality of their academic achievements.
Education at Rzeszów University Doctoral School is free of charge for everyone, including foreign doctoral students. Classes provided in the educational program are conducted from Monday to Friday, while in justified cases resulting from the specificity of the subject, classes may be held on other days of the week. The basic language of the educational program is Polish. For foreign doctoral students, it is possible to complete the entire cycle of education in English.
A doctoral student without a doctoral degree receives a doctoral scholarship. You can only be a doctoral student in one doctoral school at a time.
Doctoral students receive scientific supervision, have access to modern infrastructure and the University's resources. An individual research plan is developed by a doctoral student in consultation with his or her supervisor within 12 months from the commencement of studies at the doctoral school, and its implementation is subject to mid-studies evaluation. In the individual research plan, the deadline for submitting the doctoral dissertation is set, which is tantamount to the completion of a given doctoral student’s education. This period may be extended by a maximum of 2 years or suspended for the period of taking leave related to maternity leave.
Education at the doctoral school ends with the submission of the doctoral dissertation together with a positive opinion of the supervisor or supervisors.
The doctoral degree is awarded in a separate procedure in the field and scientific discipline selected by the student. In Poland Act 2.0 also introduced the possibility of awarding a doctoral degree in the field only, without specifying the discipline, when the doctoral dissertation is interdisciplinary and there is no leading discipline.
