The topic of my dissertationis: „In the shadow of the millennium. Archaeological research on the early medieval history of eastern Poland after World War II. Institutions – ideas - people”
The main aim of the research, which will be included in the doctoral dissertation, will be focusing on archaeological investigations in southeastern Poland after World War II holds immense significance for expanding our knowledge in this scientific field and achieving a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the region. The current state of knowledge on this subject is still incomplete, and the existing research gaps pose a challenge that needs to be addressed.
The project is innovative in nature as it focues on the discovery and interpretation of written sources from 1944-1989, which are crucial for understanding the actions taken by the authorities regarding archaeological research. Analyzing these sources will enable us to comprehend the reasons and consequences of the decision to overlock southeastern Poland and shed light on the role and significance of individuals and institutions that independently conducted archeological research in this area. Furthermore, the project proposes an appropriate research approach that knowledge of the history, culture, and heritage of the region.
The conclusions of the project can have a significant impact on the development of the discipline of archaeology and our overall understanding of the past. By pushing the boundaries of existing knowledge and expanding the scope of archaeological research in this area, it will be lead to a better understanding of historical processes, cultural migrations, and influence the development of archaeological methods and theories. The discoveries and interpretations resulting form this research cen serve as a basis for further research, scientific debate, influence the shaping of policies for the preservation of the cultural heritage and also contribute to better protection and promotion to this region.
