5th International Congress of Human Rights
Rzeszów, December 10-12, 2024
The Congress will begin on the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), a document referred to as the "Bible of human rights". It is addressed to all people interested in the issues of human rights and freedoms: scientists, non-governmental activists, students, representatives of professional environments in which knowledge on this subject is needed.
This year's Congress is financed from the funds of the Regional Excellence Initiative "Migrants from Ukraine in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Socio-economic implications", implemented by the College of Social Sciences, University of Rzeszów. The Russian-Ukrainian war, migration, and disinformation will be the main topics of the Congress.
The debates will cover the following issues:
- Threats to human rights in the 21st century
- Russian invasion of Ukraine
- Institutional, legal, and political aspects of consumer protection
- Migration - international, state, regional, and local aspects
- Human rights and their observance in the political thought of contemporary political parties in the context of armed conflicts
- Human rights in contemporary armed conflicts
- The United States of America and European security
- Migration as an experience in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The perspective of oral history
- War and social policy - war challenges and the wave of war refugees from Ukraine.
- Migrants from Ukraine - legal, social and economic implementations for Central and Eastern European countries
- Disinformation and fake news as a threat to human rights
- State education policy in times of armed conflicts
- Non-governmental organizations and assistance to refugees from Ukraine
- Integration of migrants in modern states: models, strategies, actions
- Crime in the face of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict
