Prowadzone badania naukowe skupiają się wokół:
- materiałów o właściwościach plazmonicznych pozwalających na uzyskanie efektu SERS (ang. Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering)
- wytwarzania bionanokompleksów na bazie nanocząstek złota i cząstek biologicznych
- analizy właściwości materiałów i nanomateriałów z wykorzystaniem metod spektroskopowych: spektroskopia Ramana, spektroskopia w podczerwieni z transformatą Fouriera (FTIR), fotoluminescencja, spektroskopia absorpcyjna w zakresie UV-VIS i mikroskopii sił atomowych (AFM)
- wykorzystania metod spektroskopowych i mikroskopii AFM w badaniach obiektów biologicznych
